Sticks & Panels

I've always found it funny (and rather miraculous) that our furniture which is so beautiful and so expertly crafted, all starts out basically, as sticks and panels.
STICKS & PANELS

Well, we're just beginning on a number of projects in the shop right now, so there are lots of sticks and panels around...

These sticks and panels will soon be End Panels (for the ends of the bookstacks) for a university library in Connecticut.

See? Here's an example of one that's almost finished...

And these sticks and panels will come to life as a gorgeous, fully "tripped out" reception desk for a new law office. Yes, those sticks and panels are Mahogany. They are destined for true greatness.

I'm not actually sure there were a lot of sticks involved in this piece, but there are some serious panels.

And when they are finished, they will look like this:

Just last week, this was a pile of sticks and panels too. In a few weeks this unit, along with it's twin, will hold archival books for an historic library on Cape Cod. A very important role, indeed.

And these sticks and panels, when joined with lovely glass sides and shelves, will hold a collection of baseballs. Quite honorable, to be sure.
